This is to state our interest to join the project consortium. We have experience in realization of multinational projects funded under the H2020, JOP Black Sea Basin, Interreg Danube, Erasmus+, and others. We were a National Contact Point for EU CIP Eco-Innovation Progranmme.
One of the implemented projects with VEDA participation refers to the idea of the green living areas (SEE/D/0320/4.1/X BUILD SEE – “Addressing the divide between EU indications and their practical implementation in the green construction and eco-social re-qualification of residential areas in Southeast Europe regions”)

Our expertise is in the area of cultural and rural tourism; eco- and social innovation; modernization of agricultural sector; blue economy; revitalization of urban and industrial areas. We can deliver support for SMEs and start-ups as well as training & mentoring services.
Concerning cultural tourism there are lots of disused buildings and crumbling monuments as a result of the impact of climate change, located in small settlements in Varna region. These settlements are with poor livelihoods, depopulated or with tendencies people to migrate to bigger cities due to lack of job opportunities. Improving access to the monuments and their renovation will enable the creation of alternative eco-paths and new tourist routes of cultural and historical heritage. In this way, an increase in tourist flow and the creation of new jobs will be sought, including by promoting alternative initiatives for rural tourism along the routes (craft workshops, traditional customs for the region, dishes of national cuisine, etc.).

VEDA was a national contact point for the CIP Eco-Innovation Program (2007-2013).
Our agency was involved in carrying out several projects in the area of blue economy i.e. 2018-1-MT01-KA202-038500 BLUESPROUT – Boosting blue Entrepreneurs’ competences toward an environmental care ecosystem , 2021-1-ES01-KA220-VET-000034899 BLUEDIVET – Blue economy digitalization skills for VET students and 2013–3852/011–011 YT7 CAAP7 YBE – “Young Blue Entrepreneurs Across the World”.
Also, under the project “Building entrepreneurial capacities for women in the agri-food business”, Empowering Women in Agriculture (EWA) in Bulgaria VEDA coach provided mentorship to a young female scientist, who works currently in the area of utilization of waste biomass from algae. Her doctoral research is towards production of a bio fertilizer with inter molecular content, which will regulate the processes of assimilation of water and nutrients by plants.
The European algae industry is a promising emerging sector of the EU Blue Bio-economy with many data gaps still to be filled, and we will be happy to cooperate with you on this topic.
