Dear All,
I am in charge of EU projects in the Departement of Hérault, and I think that the projet idea could be explore more deeply as freshwater is a sharp challenge in many Med regions. I you are interested we could dive a little bit more and see if someone could take the lead but also share different common sub-topics.
Here are a few example of topics:
– drawing maps and master plan to define productive and non productive forests,
– set a hierarchy of forest sensitiveness on different criteria to define, amongst freshwater protection river basins (i.e springs or intakes, boreholes, ..)

I just let you a message for another projet, and I am finding this projet dealing with water management.
Here are a few hints about our background in the Departemental Council of Herault:
– application in a research project for reuse of waste water especially on campsites
– involvement in a MED program project “Waterloss” tackling issue of water supply systems, leaks and management for efficiency improvements (indicators and parameters, methodology and lauch of a computerized decision support tool)
– issue of a brochure for the selection of trees/plants for campground managers
– management of agricultural water dam for local irrigation
– promotion of efficient irrigation in agriculture
Climat change is a long run challenge, and the local representatives strive to tackle in a proper way this policy.
So we would be glad to participate in a project dealing with a panel of these topics

I am aware you are looking for some countries of the Euro Med region but in case you need to complete a partnership, the Departemental Council of Herault (south of France along the sea shore) has a significant experience in participating in EU projets, as the last Med Program, through the consortium of “Castwater” ( https://castwater.interreg-med.eu/ ) . The project focused on water management in coastal areas, tackling with tourism and over consumption of water in constrained areas due to swater shortages.
