About the Institution & Site:
The Public Institution Agency for the Management of the Stari Grad Plain is dedicated to the preservation, sustainable development, and tourism valorisation of the Stari Grad Plain (ancient Pharos Hora or Roman Ager) on the Island of Hvar. Inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2008, this unique cultural landscape represents the best-preserved ancient Greek land division (cadastre) in the Mediterranean, boasting 24 centuries of continuous agricultural tradition.
