Ornis italica is seeking an eligible Lead Partner and project partners for an Interreg Euro-MED Call 8 proposal focused on the conservation and resilience of Scopoli’s and Yelkouan shearwaters in the Mediterranean Sea.
The project will develop pilot actions to improve breeding sites, reduce light pollution and address accidental bycatch, while strengthening transnational cooperation.
Ornis italica has been active for many years in the Pelagie Islands (southern Italy), with extensive experience in seabird monitoring, GPS tracking and the study of fisheries-related bycatch. This field experience provides a strong scientific basis for developing and implementing effective conservation measures.
We are particularly interested in partners from Italy, Greece and Malta, including protected areas, public authorities, research institutions, universities and environmental NGOs working on marine and coastal biodiversity, seabird conservation and sustainable fisheries.
A written project proposal, including a description of the planned activities and a preliminary budget, is already available.
Deadline for submission: 13 November 2026. We welcome expressions of interest from potential Lead Partners and project partners as soon as possible.
