    Regional Development Agency of Karlovac County (Croatia) is currently developing a transnational project proposal under the 8th Call for Test Projects of the Interreg Euro-MED Programme. The project aims to strengthen sustainable territorial food systems by improving cooperation among local producers, public authorities, market actors and other relevant stakeholders. The initiative addresses challenges such as fragmented local food supply chains, limited market access for small producers and insufficient coordination between local food production and market demand.

    A key component of the proposed approach is the joint development and/or adaptation of a transferable methodological framework for assessing territorial food supply and demand, identifying gaps and opportunities, and supporting evidence-based decision-making. The framework would be applied in participating territories to inform the development and testing of locally adapted pilot solutions.

    The project will emphasise integrated and participatory governance, involving relevant territorial stakeholders in the development, testing and evaluation of solutions that can be adapted and transferred across Mediterranean regions.

    We are looking for transnational partners from the Interreg Euro-MED programme area, particularly:

    • Regional and local development agencies and public authorities;
    • Research institutions and organisations working on sustainable food systems;
    • Organisations experienced in producer cooperation, short food supply chains and local market development;
    • Institutions and organisations with expertise in sustainable and socially responsible public procurement.

    We welcome partners interested in contributing their expertise, participating in the development of a common methodological approach and testing relevant solutions in their own territories.

    The project concept is currently being developed, and the specific activities and pilot actions will be further defined in cooperation with the prospective partnership.

    We welcome expressions of interest from potential partners and look forward to exploring opportunities for cooperation.
