The Municipality of Vratsa is a local public authority in Northwestern Bulgaria with experience in the preparation and implementation of EU-funded projects, including cross-border and transnational cooperation initiatives.
The Municipality actively works in the fields of sustainable urban and regional development, green infrastructure, environmental protection, climate resilience, citizen engagement and innovative solutions for improving the quality of life in urban areas.
For the upcoming Interreg Euro-MED Call 08, the Municipality of Vratsa is interested in building a transnational partnership focused on green urban solutions, healthier and more active public spaces, nature-based solutions and sustainable urban development.
We are particularly interested in connecting with municipalities, public authorities, universities/research organisations and other relevant organisations from the Interreg Euro-MED programme area with complementary expertise and/or suitable territories for pilot activities.

Hi, I would like to briefly introduce CEEO (Center for Energy, Energy Efficiency and Environment), a Bosnia and Herzegovina-based NGO and expert organization working on energy efficiency, renewable energy, climate change, environmental protection and sustainable development.

We are currently implementing an Interreg Danube project and have previous experience with Interreg MED projects, including the implementation of an Interreg MED project in 2022. We are also currently implementing a circular economy project supported by the UNDP–Czech Challenge Fund, giving us relevant practical experience in this field.

In addition, CEEO has experience in urban planning and nature-based solutions through our previous URWAN project, which we see as particularly relevant to the “Greening living areas” topic.

Our team has extensive experience in developing EU project applications and in the implementation and management of EU-funded projects.

If you are planning to apply under the upcoming Interreg MED call and are building a consortium, we would be very interested in joining. We believe CEEO could bring relevant expertise and practical experience to the partnership, and we would be happy to discuss potential areas of cooperation.

Dear Municipality of Vratsa team,

Community Fabric Ltd. is a Bulgarian education consultancy interested in your proposed partnership on green urban solutions under Call 08. We could contribute by designing and supporting a structured process through which schools and young people help shape, test and evaluate improvements to local public spaces.

Our expertise includes curriculum design, teacher training and participatory learning. We currently coordinate COM_ENGAGE with schools in Vidin and Slatina, Romania. The approach connects student parliament commissions with subject-based project learning, enabling students to address community issues through coordinated research, action and impact assessment. The process culminates in commissions presenting their actions and findings to citizens and municipal representatives, creating an opportunity for public dialogue and follow-up.

Within your partnership, we could adapt this approach to the selected urban pilot, support participating teachers and student commissions, and organise a process for feeding students’ research, proposals and assessment back into pilot implementation.
