Project concept: BIORES-LAKES – Biodiversity Restoration and Sustainable Natural Heritage Management in Lake Ecosystems

Thematic focus: Biodiversity, natural heritage, ecosystem protection and sustainable territorial development
Target area: Lake Shkodra and the wider Mediterranean area.

Prosperity with Integrity (PwI), an NGO based in Shkodër, Albania, is seeking an experienced Lead Partner and committed project partners to develop a transnational cooperation project focused on biodiversity protection, the sustainable management of lake ecosystems and the valorisation of natural heritage.

Building on the natural and ecological importance of Lake Shkodra, the project aims to promote practical and transferable approaches to biodiversity conservation, ecosystem restoration, sustainable management of natural resources and cooperation among local and regional stakeholders.

We are particularly interested in organisations with experience in Interreg Euro-MED or other EU-funded cooperation programmes, especially:

Public authorities and regional or local development agencies;

Universities and research institutions specialising in biodiversity, ecology and environmental management;

Environmental NGOs and organisations working on nature conservation and natural heritage;

Protected-area management bodies and organisations with expertise in lake and wetland ecosystems;

Organisations experienced in ecosystem restoration, biodiversity monitoring, nature-based solutions and sustainable tourism linked to natural heritage.

We are particularly looking for:

An experienced Lead Partner with a strong track record in managing EU transnational cooperation projects and coordinating Mediterranean partnerships.

Technical partners with expertise in biodiversity conservation, lake and wetland ecosystem management, ecological monitoring and restoration.

Partners able to contribute to pilot actions, knowledge exchange, stakeholder engagement and the transfer of successful practices across Mediterranean territories.

We welcome organisations from EU Member States participating in the Interreg Euro-MED Programme that are interested in developing a strong, results-oriented partnership aligned with the objectives and eligibility requirements of Call 8.
