Adria Fisheries Consulting, a Croatia-based fisheries consultancy, is looking to join a consortium under Interreg Euro-MED Call 8, particularly within projects focusing on Natural Heritage, Blue Economy, marine biodiversity and sustainable coastal development.
Our expertise includes:
Sustainable and small-scale fisheries (SSF) – direct collaboration with professional fishers, stakeholder engagement and participatory approaches.
Fishing gear technology and selectivity – experimental fisheries, gear development and selectivity modelling
Marine biodiversity and invasive species – fisheries–ecosystem interactions, including work related to the invasive blue crab (Callinectes sapidus).
Fisheries monitoring and data analysis – biological sampling, experimental design, statistical analyses in R and spatial analyses using GIS.
Science-to-policy and fisheries management – translating scientific findings into practical management measures and regulatory recommendations.
EU project development – experience contributing to Horizon project proposals within two international consortia.
Our scientific work has contributed to tangible management outcomes, including changes in Croatian regulations requiring the release of egg-bearing Norway lobster (Nephrops norvegicus) females and supporting fishers’ transition to more selective fishing gear through EMFF-funded investments.
We are particularly interested in contributing to practical pilot activities, fisheries and biodiversity monitoring, stakeholder engagement, technical work packages and transferable solutions for Mediterranean coastal communities.
