PLOIGOS is a Greek civil non-profit organisation (AMKE) interested in joining a consortium as a Project Partner under the Interreg Euro-MED Call 8 – Thematic Test Projects.
Our organisation works in the field of agri-food, with particular interest in Cretan food and dietary culture, traditional food knowledge, local products, small-scale and artisanal food production, and the promotion of local gastronomic heritage.
We are interested in further developing a project idea focused on supporting small agri-food businesses, local producers and artisanal food enterprises in adopting more sustainable and circular practices.
A possible approach could include the development of a practical sustainability and circular economy toolkit for small food businesses, together with a train-the-trainer programme for organisations supporting SMEs and local producers. The model could help businesses assess their current practices, identify realistic improvements, develop tailored action plans and test selected measures in real-life conditions.
PLOIGOS could contribute to the development and testing of the methodology, stakeholder and producer engagement, training and capacity building, local pilot activities, networking, communication and dissemination. We are also interested in contributing to project sustainability monitoring activities, including carbon footprint data coordination.
The concept is at an early stage and we are open to co-developing it with Lead Partners, research organisations, public authorities, business support organisations and other partners bringing complementary technical expertise.
We would be glad to connect with organisations currently preparing proposals under Euro-MED08 and explore possible cooperation.

We are reaching out on behalf of Fundación TECNOVA, a Spanish Technology Centre based in Almería (Andalusia), specialising in applied R&D, innovation and technology transfer across the agri-food value chain.

We are very interested in your proposal to support small agri-food businesses and local producers in adopting more sustainable and circular practices, as it closely aligns with our expertise and experience in European collaborative projects.

TECNOVA could contribute as a technical project partner in several areas:

– Circular economy and bioeconomy: development and validation of solutions for the valorisation of agricultural and agri-food by-products, waste reduction and resource efficiency.
– Agri-food sustainability: assessment of sustainable production practices, environmental performance and opportunities for improvement in agri-food SMEs.
– Innovation and digitalisation: application of digital tools, IoT technologies and data analytics to improve resource management, traceability and operational efficiency.
– Pilot testing and demonstration: validation of innovative solutions under real conditions, in collaboration with agricultural producers and agri-food companies.
– Knowledge transfer and capacity building: development of practical methodologies, training activities and dissemination initiatives to facilitate the adoption of sustainable innovations by SMEs.

Our experience in European collaborative projects includes:

– BioSolUDOE (Interreg Sudoe 2021–2027, ongoing): development and validation of integrated crop protection strategies based on biosolutions through transnational Living Labs, contributing to more sustainable and resilient agriculture.
– AgriDataValue (Horizon Europe): development of innovative agro-environmental data solutions to support digitalisation and data-driven decision-making in agriculture.
– agROBOfood (Horizon 2020): promotion of robotics and digital innovation across the European agri-food sector.

TECNOVA also maintains strong connections with agricultural producers, agri-food businesses and technology companies in Almería, providing opportunities for stakeholder engagement, practical experimentation and technology transfer.

We believe our technical expertise and experience in European cooperation could complement PLOIGOS’ proposed activities, particularly in developing sustainability assessment methodologies, testing circular solutions and supporting their adoption by agri-food SMEs.

We would be pleased to explore potential synergies and discuss the possibility of joining a consortium as a technical project partner, without assuming the lead partner role.
