Ivan SaltaricParticipantDURA – City of Dubrovnik Development Agency is the City of Dubrovnik’s local development agency, established in 2007. DURA supports Dubrovnik’s sustainable economic, social, and environmental development by preparing and implementing EU-funded projects, local development initiatives, and cooperation with public institutions, businesses, civil society organisations, research institutions, and other territorial stakeholders.
DURA has extensive experience in the preparation and implementation of European territorial cooperation projects, including Interreg Euro-MED, Interreg Italy–Croatia and Interreg Central Europe, covering areas such as climate resilience and adaptation, environmental sustainability, circular economy, cultural and natural heritage, sustainable urban development, innovation and stakeholder participation.
Through projects such as HERIT ADAPT, COOL NOONS, CE-PRINCE and iDEAL, DURA has gained practical experience in implementing pilot activities, coordinating territorial stakeholders, testing innovative solutions, supporting climate-resilient development and translating project results into local practice.
What can DURA bring to a consortium?
DURA can contribute to a project through:
Implementation and testing of pilot activities in Dubrovnik and its wider coastal and Mediterranean context;
Engagement and coordination of local stakeholders, including the City of Dubrovnik, public institutions, utilities, SMEs, civil society organisations, cultural institutions and other relevant territorial actors;
Support for pilot actions related to ecosystem restoration, biodiversity resilience, green and blue infrastructure and nature-based solutions;
Application of experience in climate resilience, environmental sustainability and adaptation of Mediterranean territories;
Development and implementation of participatory approaches, territorial working groups, co-design processes and stakeholder consultations;
Data collection, territorial analysis and monitoring in cooperation with relevant local and scientific partners;
Organisation of capacity-building, awareness-raising and community engagement activities;
Testing the practical applicability of innovative solutions at local level and supporting their integration into local strategies, policies and development planning;
Communication, dissemination and transfer of project results through DURA’s local, national and European networks;
Supporting the replication and scaling-up of successful solutions in other Mediterranean territories.
Areas of interest under Call 8 – Natural Heritage
DURA is particularly interested in joining a consortium under the Interreg Euro-MED Mission “Protecting, Restoring and Valorising the Natural Environment and Heritage”, especially projects addressing:
Ecosystem restoration, including coastal, marine, freshwater and terrestrial ecosystems;
Biodiversity resilience and monitoring;
Protection and restoration of Mediterranean natural habitats;
Green and blue infrastructure and nature-based solutions;
Climate-related pressures on ecosystems and biodiversity;
Improved territorial governance and stakeholder cooperation for the management and protection of natural resources;
Innovative tools and approaches that can be tested through concrete pilot actions in Mediterranean territories.
As a coastal historic city and UNESCO World Heritage destination surrounded by a highly valuable Mediterranean marine, coastal and island environment, Dubrovnik offers a relevant territory for testing and demonstrating solutions addressing environmental and biodiversity challenges.
DURA would be pleased to join an existing consortium as a Project Partner and explore potential pilot activities in Dubrovnik in cooperation with the City and relevant local stakeholders.
We are open to discussing project concepts currently being developed for Interreg Euro-MED Call 8 and identifying where DURA’s territorial experience and implementation capacity could provide added value to the partnership.
