    DURA – City of Dubrovnik Development Agency is the local development agency of the City of Dubrovnik, Croatia. DURA supports Dubrovnik’s sustainable economic, social, and environmental development by preparing and implementing EU-funded projects, local development initiatives, and cooperation with public institutions, businesses, civil society organisations, research institutions, and other territorial stakeholders.

    DURA has extensive experience in the preparation and implementation of European territorial cooperation projects, including Interreg Euro-MED, Interreg Italy–Croatia and Interreg Central Europe, covering areas such as climate resilience and adaptation, sustainable urban development, environmental sustainability, circular economy, cultural and natural heritage, innovation and stakeholder participation.

    Through projects such as COOL NOONS, HERIT ADAPT, CE-PRINCE and iDEAL, DURA has gained practical experience in implementing territorial pilot activities, engaging local stakeholders, testing innovative solutions and supporting the development of more sustainable and resilient Mediterranean communities.

    What can DURA bring to a consortium?

    DURA can contribute through:

    Implementation and testing of pilot activities in Dubrovnik as a Mediterranean coastal urban territory;

    Identification and coordination of suitable local pilot locations and stakeholders in cooperation with the City of Dubrovnik and relevant public institutions;

    Testing of nature-based solutions, green infrastructure and climate-resilient public-space interventions;

    Experience related to urban heat, climate resilience and adaptation of public and urban spaces;

    Community and stakeholder engagement, including citizens, public institutions, SMEs, civil society organisations and other local actors;

    Organisation of co-design processes, workshops, territorial working groups and participatory activities;

    Support for initiatives promoting healthier, greener, more inclusive and climate-resilient living environments;

    Data collection, territorial analysis, monitoring and evaluation of pilot activities in cooperation with technical and scientific partners;

    Awareness-raising, training and capacity-building activities;

    Integration of tested solutions into local strategies, development plans and public policies;

    Communication, dissemination, replication and transfer of project results through local, national and European networks.

    Areas of interest under Call 8 – Green Living Areas

    DURA is particularly interested in joining consortia working on topics such as:

    Wellbeing and health in living areas;

    Climate-resilient and inclusive public and green spaces;

    Reduction of the impacts of urban heat and heat stress;

    Nature-based solutions and green-blue infrastructure;

    Improving accessibility and quality of urban public spaces for different population groups;

    Urban greening, biodiversity and climate-resilient landscaping;

    Community participation and co-design of healthier living environments;

    Urban and peri-urban agriculture;

    Sustainable local food systems and resilient food supply chains;

    Innovative approaches connecting green infrastructure, local food production, community participation and territorial resilience.

    As a compact Mediterranean coastal city exposed to increasing climate pressures, high summer temperatures and strong seasonal use of public spaces, Dubrovnik offers a relevant environment for testing practical solutions aimed at creating healthier, greener and more resilient living areas.

    DURA can act as a territorial and pilot implementation partner, facilitating cooperation with the City of Dubrovnik and relevant local stakeholders and supporting the practical testing, monitoring and uptake of project solutions.

    We would be pleased to join an existing consortium preparing a proposal for Interreg Euro-MED Call 8 – Promoting Green Living Areas and discuss potential pilot activities that could be implemented in Dubrovnik.
