Argonauta, a Croatian NGO based on Murter Island, is looking to join an emerging consortium for the 7th Call for Proposals – MMM Transfer Projects, within the Sustainable Tourism mission.

With more than 20 years of experience in sustainable development and EU-funded projects, Argonauta works at the intersection of sustainable tourism, environmental protection, cultural heritage, education and community participation. We have extensive experience working with island and coastal communities and with municipalities, protected areas, educational institutions, businesses and civil society organisations.

What Argonauta can contribute

• Sustainable and year-round tourism – developing tourism approaches that reduce seasonality and strengthen destination resilience
• Cultural and natural heritage – interpretation, valorisation and development of new visitor experiences based on local identity
• Community-led destination development – engaging local communities, businesses, young people and other stakeholders
• Responsible tourism and environmental awareness – education and actions promoting responsible visitor behaviour
• Island and coastal resilience – practical solutions adapted to small islands and coastal destinations
• Digital and innovative visitor experiences – heritage interpretation, digital tools and new ways of engaging visitors
• Knowledge exchange and capacity building through local, national and international cooperation.

Relevant experience

Our recent and previous projects include BLUESLINKS, TANGRAM, FORO – Festival of Sustainable Development, Taste from Amphorae, Revive, Sustain the Island!, and projects focused on the valorisation of Murter–Kornati and Tisno cultural and natural heritage. These projects cover sustainable tourism, heritage interpretation, digital visitor experiences, community participation, blue economy, environmental education and destination development.
We are particularly interested in transfer-oriented projects that can build on tested solutions and adapt them to new destinations and communities, with a strong focus on practical implementation and knowledge transfer.

We would be happy to connect with coordinators or consortia currently developing a proposal and looking for a partner from Croatia with experience in sustainable tourism, heritage, community engagement and island/coastal destinations.
