The Center of Integrated Geomorphology for the Mediterranean Area (CGIAM) is a public-law research institute based in Potenza, Basilicata (Italy).
We are interested in joining the Mediterranean Multi-Programme Mechanism (MMM) Coordinated Call 7 on Sustainable Tourism consortium, and are open to taking on either the lead partner or partner role.

CGIAM has extensive experience in the Interreg programmes and in transnational institution-building projects, such as the Phare Twinning and EuropeAid programmes.
In these projects, CGIAM is successfully playing the roles of lead partner and partner.

Our main strengths include:
– Scientific and technical expertise in territorial and environmental analysis, geomorphological risk assessment, and monitoring methodologies.
– Great capacity in results transfer and technological innovation, turning research outcomes into applicable tools and solutions.
– A portfolio of validated, transferable project outputs covering coastal climate change adaptation, protected area wildfire resilience, and cultural heritage tourism.
– Experience in turning technical and scientific knowledge into public-facing content through exhibitions and citizen-oriented initiatives.

We may be interested in projects topics like:
– sustainable tourism in coastal and climate-vulnerable destinations;
– the resilience of protected natural areas and territories of high environmental value;
– heritage and territorial resilience linked to climate adaptation and citizen engagement.

In MMM, many outputs can be categorised within these areas, and we are prepared to contribute to the drafting of project proposals in our capacity as lead partner and partner organisation.

We are writing on behalf of the Municipality of Travnik, Bosnia and Herzegovina, in response to your partner search notice for the MMM Coordinated Call 7 on Sustainable Tourism. Given that CGIAM is open to a Lead Partner role and has a strong track record in Interreg and transnational institution-building projects, we wanted to reach out directly, as we are currently seeking a Lead Partner for our own concept.

We are developing a proposal focused on digital access to heritage sites with limited physical accessibility, working with our Regional Museum on AR and VR outputs — digital recording of tangible and intangible heritage, AR interpretation, and VR application development for sites currently under restoration or otherwise inaccessible to visitors. We see potential overlap with your interest in heritage and territorial resilience linked to climate adaptation and citizen engagement, particularly around turning technical/scientific outputs into public-facing, citizen-oriented content.

We would be glad to share more detail on our concept and territorial profile, and to understand whether this direction — heritage digitalisation and accessibility through AR/VR — fits within CGIAM’s areas of interest for Call 7, either as Lead Partner or in coordination with other territorial partners.

Dear CGIAM team,

We are contacting you on behalf of the Tourist Board of Sali Municipality, representing Dugi Otok, Croatia.

Your Call 7 partner search is particularly relevant to our territory, especially your expertise in coastal climate adaptation, protected-area resilience, cultural heritage tourism and the transfer of validated project outputs.

Dugi Otok is a peripheral Croatian island with 11 dispersed settlements, strong seasonal and nautical tourism pressure, protected coastal and marine areas and climate-vulnerable natural and cultural heritage. Potential pilot environments include Sakarun, Telašćica Nature Park, coastal archaeological heritage such as Mala Proversa, the prehistoric Vlakno cave and lesser-known island settlements.

We are interested in participating in Call 7 as a Project Partner / Croatian island pilot and uptake territory. During our screening of eligible MMM results, we identified outputs such as Co-Evolve4BG, ENSERES and ARCHAEODIGIT as particularly relevant to our territory.

We would be very interested in exploring whether Dugi Otok could complement a proposal involving CGIAM, particularly if you are considering a Lead Partner role or working with transferable outputs in these fields.
