Our research group, Department of Public Health, at the University of Turin, Italy, is available as a project partner in Interreg Euro-MED Call 8 consortia under SO 1.1 – Innovative Sustainable Economy.
We offer expertise in assessing the hygienic quality and potential health impacts of innovative wastewater treatments targeting emerging contaminants, including PFAS, with an interest in bioremediation approaches. Our contribution includes microbiological and molecular monitoring, biological effect assessment, and evaluation of treatment efficacy and safety, distinguishing contaminant removal from actual degradation. We seek collaboration with technology developers, while we already have collaborations with water utilities and public authorities to support pilot evaluation and transferable assessment protocols.
