The 7th edition of the Natura 2000 Awards has been launched on 22 May 2023.
Any public or private organisations involved in managing Natura 2000 sites across the European Union can apply, from 22nd May to 29th September 2023.
The Award
The European Natura 2000 Award aims to honour leading nature conservation achievements and reward excellence in the management and promotion of the network, as well as to raise awareness about Natura 2000 and its benefits to European citizens. In addition, the high-profile “EU Citizens’ Award” goes to the application receiving the highest number of votes from the public. The winners of the Natura 2000 Award 2024 will be announced at a special ceremony in the Commission headquarters at Berlaymont, by the Commissioner for Environment, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Virginijus Sinkevičius.

Keep an eye on the Award website for updates on the 2024 Edition of the Award. The Award website provides detailed Information for applicants, including guidance for each of the Award’s categories and the selection criteria. Applications can be submitted in all EU languages.
