Hello Tsvetomila,
your partner search immediately caught our attention because the themes you highlight – greener public spaces, nature-based solutions, climate resilience and sustainable development – are closely connected with the work we are already doing with municipalities in eastern Slovenia.

We are Development and Research Center RRC Ormož, a public regional development institution, and we would be very interested in joining the partnership as a Project Partner from Slovenia.
Our strength lies in connecting regional development with practical implementation at local level. Through URBACT ECONNECTING, we have been working on sustainable mobility and accessibility between rural and urban areas, participatory planning, co-creation and integrated territorial approaches, with a strong focus on the everyday needs of smaller and more dispersed communities.
Through URBACT EcoCore, we have been involved in green transition, low-carbon local development, active mobility and stakeholder engagement, linking environmental objectives with concrete local development challenges.

We also have very practical experience in turning these ideas into visible local results. In the Cycling to School project, RRC Ormož coordinated cooperation with three municipalities and local schools, combining sustainable mobility awareness with concrete infrastructure improvements. The project resulted in nine covered bicycle shelters with 243 bicycle stands at ten schools, together with activities encouraging greener everyday mobility.

This mix of strategic planning, direct cooperation with municipalities and hands-on implementation is where we believe we could bring real value to your partnership. We could contribute a Slovenian territorial and pilot perspective, support stakeholder and municipal involvement, participate in pilot preparation and implementation, and help transfer successful approaches into local and regional practice.

We are especially interested in the connection between climate-resilient public spaces, accessibility, sustainable mobility and quality of life. In smaller towns and rural centres, these challenges are closely linked, and solutions need to be not only innovative, but also practical, affordable and realistic for local authorities to implement and maintain.

We would be very glad to learn more about the direction you are considering for the proposal and to explore whether RRC Ormož could be a good fit as a Slovenian Project Partner.
