    The Council of Rafelbunyol is the main public entity of the Rafelbunyol town. The municipality is located 15 kilometers from the capital of the province, Valencia. Furthermore, it is located in a strategic enclave between the sea and the mountains in the Comarca de l’Horta Nord (Local Department). It currently has a population of 9,381 inhabitants (4,594 men and 4,757 women). Rafelbunyol is ranked number 860 in the ranking of gross income declared at national level. The average gross income of the municipality in 2019 was 25,076 euros. The town and the region has changed in the last 50 years from being predominantly agricultural to being provided with a certain industrialization, taking into account that it is only 18 kilometers from the industrial and port area of Sagunt, as well as from the aforementioned with the city of Valencia.

    The approximate business network of Rafelbunyol has about 700 companies in different sectors. As for the public services of the municipality:

    ● Transport: The town has a Metro line 3 that connects it with numerous neighboring towns, as well as with the capital Valencia, and the Valencia Airport. The town is also connected to secondary roads and the highway. In the neighboring town of El Puig, 5 minutes from the town, is also located the commuter train.
    ● Education: The Council has two primary schools (CEIP Verge del Miracle and CEIP Els Germanells), one Secondary School (IES RAFELBUNYOL), a Training School for adults, and last it also has musical training with the “Sociedad Musical la Primitiva de Rafelbunyol”.
    ● Services: Public Residence for the Elderly, Public Library, Youth Space, House of Culture, Museum, Health Center, Municipal Sports Services (Sports Center), Auditorium.
    ● Industry and Commerce: Rafelbunyol has its own industrial area, as well as a network of stores in the municipality.

    Strategic Objectives

    ● Promote cooperation between organizations and public bodies in the EU, as well as contribute to create synergies of various international environments.
    ● Offer and develop European initiatives addressed to the citizens of Rafelbunyol, especially the Youth and those in need.
    ● Develop new ideas and promote new forms of innovative practices in digitalization, Smart cities , employment and other examples of social innovation that contribute to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
    ● Create strategic partnerships to improve the town from a local and European perspective.
    ● R&D projects about sustainability, climate change and environment.

    The organization has experience in developing local and international projects as:

    ● Developing workshops addressed to the Youth in various topics (Gender Equality, Social Inclusion, ICT, European Youth participation, Mental Health, Volunteering, literacy and promotion of reading.
    ● The Council has developed different channels to improve Youth Participation as the example with the creation of the Committee for the Children and Adolescent, or:
    ○ Scholar save paths’ project: Improving the sustainability and reducing the climate impact going to school
    ○ Green electric bikes and scooters points
    ○ S.A.Y. Project and Final de Trajecte (Espai Jove): A festival that improves the Youth environment using arts & graffiti
    ○ Youth Forum. Listening to the needs of Youth.
    ● Rafelbunyol Council is involved in the Smart Cities project to digitize the town.

    Our project portfolio consists of a broad range of international projects, such as:
    Increasing the Conformance of Academia towards Rehabilitation Engineering (i-Care), Development of Entrepreneurship in the Black Sea Basin (TREASURE), Black Sea Joint Environmental Monitoring and Protection (ALERT), Vocational Education and Training on Product Environmental Management for the Footwear and Textile Sector (EcoTextyle), etc. Further participation in the said project will complement the whole cycle of our services, add value to our mission and main activities, will creatively mobilize our resources and further the existing partnerships of BATTI, stimulating the creation of new links.
