Dear Elena!
I am a project coordinator at the Secondary School of Forestry and Wood technology in Postojna, Slovenia, which places great emphasis on the sustainable management of forests and their protection, including against fires. We are VERY interested in cooperating with you, the school has 300 ha of forests where we can test new approaches. This year in Slovenia we had the largest forest fire in history in neighbour region, so we are very interested in this topic both from the point of view of fire safety and the education of students.

Our school (www.sgls.si) has experiences with many international and national projects and I offer you help with the project application. The school is located near the world-famous Postonjska Cave Postojna Cave Park (postojnska-jama.eu) and it runs the Proteus hostel (https://proteus.sgls.si/)

I am interested in the topic you summarized, so I would like to get further details on the proposal.

Since my working group, the Regional Environmental Modelling Center (CRMA), is giving support to the local authorities in managing environmental emergencies, among them there are wildfires, mainly through numerical models, both for forecasting emergency evolution, evaluating hazards and planning risk reduction, I guess we could contribute in defining and supporting a project proposal focused on emergency response to wildfires events.

AVITEM is a public cooperation agency representing several French territorial authorities (SUD region, Corsica, Metropole of Nice, City of Marseille, AURA region). We are based in Marseille, France, and we work on sustainable development issues: resilience and adaptation to climate change, sustainable tourism & circular economy.
Our members, the SUD region and Corsica, have participated in projects on wildfires in 14-20 (MED-Star, MED-PSS, MED-Coopfire – INTERREG Marittimo). AVITEM aims at complementing and disseminating these results to other Mediterranean territories. We are very interested in awareness-raising, communication and information activities for better fire management, particularly via the behavioural science approach.
