The coming months are set to be action-packed for the Programme, its missions, and its projects! Let’s take a look at the main events not to be missed between now and the end of the year.
New projects and Programme events
What is the first highlight of the programme? The launch of nine strategic territorial projects, which were selected as part of the fifth call for proposals. These projects focus on waste management and/or water scarcity in rural, island or mountainous areas.
In practical terms, the Lead Partner Seminar will take place online on September 18, 2025, followed by a Seminar dedicated to communication on October 2. Let’s get started!

At the same time, the Joint Secretariat and the governance projects of our four missions will meet in Marseille on 23 and 24 September 2025 as part of their EUROMED4 Governance working group. On the agenda: information sessions, workshops and training dedicated to the transfer of results and coordination with macro-regional actors. The aim: to better integrate the results of our projects into public policies, with the capitalisation of results becoming the major challenge at the end of the 2021-27 Programming period.
Finally, the Programme will organise the ‘Bridging the Seas’ event on 19 November 2025 in Varna (Bulgaria). Three successive sessions will provide an opportunity to discuss the Programme’s contribution to the priorities set by the European Union, the need to seek greater synergies with broader geographical and thematic strategies, and at last the prospects for cooperation between territories and programmes in the future post-2027 cohesion policy.
EWRC, Ecomondo fair, Sun&blue Congress: Interreg Euro-MED active on all fronts
Find out more about the Programme, its missions and projects at three major public events to be held this autumn.
The first is the traditional European Week of Regions and Cities, which will take place from 13 to 15 October in Brussels.
The Programme will participate in a ‘Hackathon: Shaping a Smart and Sustainable Tourism Strategy in the Mediterranean Together’. In 90 minutes, participants will collaboratively design actions for sustainable tourism that could be funded by Interreg. Our four missions will share a stand to promote their governance activities, both in terms of coordinating their respective thematic communities and institutional dialogue.
The second is the Ecomondo 2025 fair – a leading event in the field of circular economy – which will be held in Rimini from 4 to 7 November. Two sessions dedicated to Interreg Euro-MED projects will take place on 5 November:
- The first, co-organised by BlueMissionMed and the Innovative Sustainable Economy mission, will invite several of our projects focused on sustainable water management to present their activities and results to build synergies with a wide range of projects, partners and multipliers. This initiative is in line with the priorities and objectives of the EU Mission Restore Ocean & Waters.
- The second, organised by our Green Living Areas mission, will give a voice to its projects, with a view to highlighting the initial results achieved to date.
The third is the Sun&blue Congress on Blue Tourism and Economy, which will be held in Almeria on 19 and 20 November:
- The Programme will be represented at a side event where five projects from the Mediterranean Multi-Programme Mechanism programmes will present their best practices and innovations in the Blue Economy linked to tourism.
- The Programme will also be a member of the jury for the Blue Challenge, a hackathon that will reward the best initiatives devised by young people, again on the theme of the Blue Economy linked to tourism.
- Finally, the Sustainable Tourism mission will organise a panel on the management of tourist flows, including several of its Interreg Euro-MED projects, among which TOURISMO, ECO-SEAROUTES and PortCREW.
Mission events and projects final conferences
Last but not least, discover the events related to our thematic and governance projects.
With the study and transfer projects from our second call for proposals nearing completion, the first final conferences are being organised. You will find the final conferences list – which will be regularly updated – on the dedicated page of our website. They will also be posted on our events calendar.
Our governance projects regularly organise events bringing together their project communities. This will be the case for the Annual Meeting of the Sustainable Tourism Community in Tirana on 1 and 2 October 2025, as well as the 3rd Innovation Camp of Innovative Sustainable Economy mission, which will be held in Olhão, Portugal, on 23 and 24 October 2025.
Finally, the Annual institutional dialogue meetings of the Green Living Areas and Natural Heritage missions will be held on 15 and 16 October in Brussels and in November, respectively.
