Why Transnational Cooperation matters?

20/03/2025

We are pleased to present a new paper jointly drafted within the network of Interreg transnational programmes of which Euro-MED is part.

This publication is the result of long-term collaboration among 13 programmes, which cover wider cooperation areas across Europe.

Why Transnational Cooperation Matters?

Transnational projects bring together experts, stakeholders, and organisations from multiple countries and sectors, forming dynamic partnerships that accelerate innovation and create resilient solutions. By pooling knowledge, resources, and expertise, these initiatives maximise impact and drive positive change in regions that share common goals and challenges.

3 Key Strengths of Transnational Cooperation

Based on 13 project examples, one per programme, the joint paper highlights how transnational cooperation achieves three fundamental objectives:

Building Solidarity – Strengthening collaboration between regions and fostering mutual understanding to tackle shared challenges together.

Driving Synergies – Aligning efforts and expertise from diverse sectors to enhance efficiency and amplify impact.

Delivering Change – Transforming innovative ideas into tangible, long-term solutions that benefit communities across Europe.
