The City of Gradiška (Bosnia and Herzegovina), in cooperation with the technology partner Dunavnet, is developing a project proposal under the 8th Interreg Euro-MED Call, within the mission Promoting Green Living Areas and the topic Wellbeing and Health in Living Areas. The project aims to improve public health, environmental quality and climate resilience in urban areas by combining nature-based solutions, smart environmental monitoring, GIS and digital technologies. Through transnational pilot activities, participating municipalities will identify urban areas affected by extreme heat and other environmental challenges, implement green interventions such as tree planting, shaded areas and improved public spaces, and evaluate their impact on environmental conditions and citizens’ well-being. The project will develop and test a common, transferable model for evidence-based urban planning and healthier, greener cities. We are currently seeking project partners from Slovenia, Italy, Spain and Greece, particularly municipalities willing to implement pilot activities, universities and research institutions, public health organisations, and organisations experienced in green infrastructure, climate adaptation and sustainable urban development. Interested organisations are invited to join the consortium and contribute their expertise to the development, testing and transfer of innovative solutions across the Euro-MED region.
