Meet Aurora, our new IVY reporter!

28/10/2026

Interreg Volunteer Youth is an initiative from the European Commission that started in 2017. It gives young people aged between 18 and 30 years old the opportunity to be a volunteer within the organizations that make European cooperation possible.

The Interreg Euro-MED Programme supports the IVY initiative and welcomes Aurora Laguardia, a new IVY Reporter.

Daughter of the wild hilly landscape of Basilicata, a region in southern Italy, Aurora arrived in Marseille to delve deeper into the world of European projects.

During the next six months, she will work within the communication unit to boost the visibility of cooperation in the Mediterranean region, and she will help with the organisation of the Progamme next big event, ‘A Mediterranean Journey’.

Get to know Aurora!

After completing her studies in Communication and Journalism, Aurora gained experience in the domain of media and institutional communication, eventually encountering the world of European projects, the field in which she decided to specialize.

Potenza, Rome, Istanbul, Marseille: she has changed several windows through which to look at the world to try to broaden her perspective, never managing to get too far from the Mediterranean Sea, a landscape with which she feels a strong connection.

Coffee is her daily fuel for performing any action: thinking, walking, writing, speaking…

Sociable and curious in nature, she loves the sea, the colours, dancing and walking for hours without direction.

She adores Marseille, she hates the mistral.

I am happy to begin this new experience as an IVY reporter at the Joint Secretariat Interreg Euro-MED and to contribute to the promotion of the cooperation projects in the Mediterranean carried out by the program. The European Union’s cohesion policy has real and concrete effects on citizens’ daily lives, yet more often than not it remains invisible to the population: as an IVY Volunteer, I am happy to take on the challenge of trying to make these projects known to a wider audience.
