Dear Colleagues,

I am writing on behalf of the Department of Nursing, University of Thessaly, Greece, to express our strong interest in joining your Interreg Euro-MED Call 08 proposal under the Green Living Areas mission.

I am Dr. Ourania S. Kotsiou, Pulmonologist and Associate Professor of Human Pathophysiology–Pulmonology, and Director of the Human Pathophysiology Laboratory at the Department of Nursing, University of Thessaly.

Our Department brings together multidisciplinary expertise in health sciences, public and community health, respiratory and environmental health, health promotion, vulnerable populations, wellbeing, and applied clinical research. Within this framework, my research team has particular expertise in respiratory health, environmental exposures, real-world health assessment, physiological monitoring and the evaluation of health-related outcomes.

We believe that the University of Thessaly could provide a strong health and wellbeing dimension to your consortium, complementing the architectural, urban-design and environmental components of the project.

In particular, we could contribute to the development and validation of health and wellbeing KPIs, assessment of respiratory and environmental-health outcomes, evaluation of vulnerable populations, and pre/post health assessment of real-life pilot interventions. We are also interested in linking environmental parameters, such as air quality, temperature, humidity and thermal comfort, with perceived wellbeing and measurable health outcomes.

We would be very interested in discussing the current consortium and exploring how the Department of Nursing, University of Thessaly could contribute as a research and health partner, potentially leading or co-leading the Health and Wellbeing Assessment component.

We would be pleased to arrange a short online meeting at your convenience.

Kind regards,

Ourania S. Kotsiou, MD, PhD
