    We are looking for partners for our proposal for the Air Quality Innovation for Sustainable Mediterranean Construction

    We are looking for:
    -Municipality / public authority for renovation pilot in public building
    -Research institutions to contribute to the scientific validation
    -Assosiations of construction firms

    Mediterranean construction and building renovation activities contribute to air pollution through dust emissions, material handling, construction processes and the use of products that release airborne pollutants.
    At the same time, small and medium-sized construction companies and public authorities often lack accessible methods for selecting, implementing and evaluating lower-emission construction solutions.
    AIRBUILD MED will develop, adapt and test an integrated approach for reducing air pollution associated with construction and renovation activities, combining innovative building materials, low-emission construction practices, environmental monitoring and digital decision-support tools.
    The project will test comparable solutions in real-life construction or renovation sites across Mediterranean countries, with particular attention to public buildings.

    If interested, please leave a message here.

    Dear all,

    I am writing in response to your partner search for the AIRBUILD MED proposal. Baltazar University of Applied Sciences (Zaprešić, Croatia) would like to express interest in joining the consortium.

    Baltazar is a higher education institution specialising in management, project management, information technology and communication, with a strong online learning offer. Our Project Management programme holds IPMA REG accreditation, and we work with PMI Croatia and IPMA Croatia. Our founder is the City of Zaprešić, and since 2021 we have run an annual “Knowledge Synergy” programme with the City, in which students and staff develop practical solutions for local needs, including the green transformation of schools and the renovation and re-use of a public building.

    We believe we can contribute to AIRBUILD MED in the following areas:

    project management and coordination support (work package management, reporting, risk and quality management);
    training and capacity building for SMEs in construction and for public authorities, including online learning materials;
    communication, dissemination and exploitation, using our business and professional networks and our Economic Council;
    evaluation of results and stakeholder engagement.

    We are not offering laboratory or scientific validation capacity, and would be glad to complement partners who do.

    Feel free to contact me: abasic@bak.hr

    Kind regards,

    Antonia Basic

    Dear Inis,

    My name is Federica Mazzanti and I am a European Policies Consultant at RESOLVE, based in Padua, Italy. I came across your partner search and would like to explore the potential involvement of two organisations I support, which could contribute in complementary ways.

    The Federazione dei Comuni del Camposampierese (FCC) is an inter-municipal public authority bringing together ten municipalities in the province of Padua. Through the European City Facility, FCC has developed an investment concept for the energy renovation of 28 public buildings, including schools and gyms.
    Building on this experience, we could explore with FCC and its member municipalities the possibility of identifying a renovation site for testing low-emission materials and construction practices, involving municipal technical departments and contractors. The availability of a suitable intervention and its compatibility with the project timetable would need to be assessed with the municipalities concerned.

    The Centro Studi Amministrativi della Marca Trevigiana (CSAMT) supports local authorities through training, technical and administrative assistance, and cooperation between municipalities. Its activities include public procurement, construction, environmental matters and public works, and it is accredited by the Italian National School of Administration for training on public contracts.
    CSAMT could potentially contribute by involving municipal staff and relevant stakeholders, developing practical guidance and training based on the pilot results, and supporting the adoption of the tested approaches across its network of local authorities.

    Could you share the concept note, the expected partner contributions, indicative budgets and project timetable, and let us know whether one of these profiles could fit your partnership? For the renovation pilot, it would be particularly useful to understand whether you require works that are already planned and funded, and which additional pilot costs could be covered by the project.

    I would be happy to arrange a short introductory meeting to discuss these possibilities.

    Best regards,
    Federica Mazzanti
