    Hello to All,
We would like to join a team under the Green Living Areas mission of Interreg Med actual Call.
Koprivnica waters is the public water utility provider for the Koprivnica-Križevci County in Croatia. We have just successfully completed the Interreg SpongeCity project, which focused on addressing the adverse effects of climate change in urban areas (https://interreg-danube.eu/projects/spongecity). One of the concepts proposed in the project’s local action plan involved transforming peri-urban agricultural land into a “green living” space—an initiative that aligns with the green urban transition currently underway in the city of Koprivnica. At present, this area is used for intensive crop farming, a practice associated with harmful environmental emissions—specifically the leaching of pesticides and synthetic fertilizers into the groundwater.
Our vision is to explore the potential for converting this area into a green living space with zero environmental emissions. Desirable features include ecological amenities, recreational and sports facilities, educational opportunities for individuals, groups, and institutions, eco-urban gardens for citizens, forests consisting of native species, late-mown meadows, pollinator habitats, and outdoor cultural spaces. Such a transformation would yield multiple benefits for the urban community: protecting the aquifer used for public water supply, strengthening social cohesion, providing climate-related advantages, and enhancing the overall quality of life within the urban environment.
While this is our primary concept, we remain open to other project themes that align with our public service mandate.
Looking forward and be happy to work together.
