The Regional Forestry Agency, briefly named AFOR, a Public Body in Umbria (Italy), is looking to contact potential partners to jointly develop a proposal for the Interreg Euro-MED Call 8, within the mission “Promotion of residential green areas.”
The project develops an innovative transnational model that integrates containerized urban mini-forests for climate adaptation with structured social agriculture components. Three demonstration pilot sites — respectively in Italy (1,000 m²), a 2nd EU Country (500 m²) and a 3rd EU Country (250 m²) — not only validate the distributed production protocol and installation on an international scale, but also simultaneously incorporate spaces and activities dedicated to the socio-occupational inclusion of vulnerable beneficiaries (long-term unemployed, NEETs, persons with disabilities, migrants, people over 55). Governance involves an extended network of public, private, technical and social partners, with overall coordination entrusted to AFOR as lead partner, operational implementation handled by the Regional Nursery Company Umbraflor (Umbria – IT), management and administrative support provided by Tiber Umbria Comett Education Programme, specific contributions from specialized territorial partners, and integration of the social component entrusted to qualified social agriculture organizations in each country.
We are looking for partners to carry out the Pilot sites, with priority given to France, Spain, and Greece.
