Emma BreteauParticipantLooking for a pilot site partner to test integrated solution for Water, energy and ecosystems in urban and peri-urban agriculture.
About the project: our project aims to test integrated solutions for water, energy and ecosystems in agricultural production in urban and peri-urban areas. It focuses on innovation, ecological and energy transition and social impact.
Where we stand : we already built a consortium with partners within the mediterrean area who have 2 pilot sites available to test solutions.
Who we are looking for: 1 additional partner who can host a pilot site in a Euro-Med territory and contribute to the experimentation, ideally with :
– An agricultural site in an urban or peri-urban area (farm, community garden, agricultural park, greenhouse, etc..)
– An interest in water management (irrigation, reuse, efficiency and sustainability), renewable energy (AgriPV, energy management, grid integration…) and/or ecosystems (biodiversity/soil health, nature based solutions)
– The ability to involve local stakeholders
What we offer:
– Participation in a transnational Mediterranean consortium
– Access to innovative solutions to test and validate on your territory
– Visibility and networking at the Euro-Med level
– Contribution to the ecological and energy transition and to social impact in your area
Interested? Please contact us with a short presentation of your organisation and your pilot site (location, activities, available ressources)

Simona AprileParticipantSubject: Expression of Interest – Pilot Site Partner
Dear Ms Breteau,
We are interested in exploring a potential collaboration within your proposed Euro-MED project and would like to present CREA Research Centre for Plant Protection and Certification (CREA-DC), Palermo, Italy, as a potential pilot site partner.
CREA-DC is a public research institution with extensive experience in Mediterranean biodiversity, Nature-Based Solutions, climate-resilient urban greening, green roofs, healing gardens and ecosystem services assessment. The Centre has participated in several national, cross-border and transnational cooperation projects and is actively involved in the development and testing of innovative solutions for sustainable and climate-resilient urban and peri-urban environments.
Our facilities in Sicily offer the possibility to develop and monitor pilot actions under Mediterranean climatic conditions. Through existing collaborations with local authorities, stakeholders and the University of Palermo, we can also support Living Labs, stakeholder engagement activities and knowledge transfer actions.
We are particularly interested in the project’s integrated approach combining water management, ecosystem restoration and social impact. We believe our expertise could contribute especially to:
biodiversity enhancement and ecosystem services;
Nature-Based Solutions for urban and peri-urban agriculture;
climate-resilient plant selection;
green infrastructure design and monitoring;
stakeholder involvement and demonstration activities.We would be pleased to discuss the potential suitability of our facilities as a pilot site and provide further information about available areas and infrastructures.
Kind regards,
Dr Simona Aprile
