Inis SParticipantWe are seeking a public health research institute, university department or research organisation to join a project proposal under the Interreg Euro-MED Call 08 – Thematic Test Projects, within the mission Promoting Green Living Areas (SO 2.7 – Wellbeing and Health in Living Areas).
The proposed project focuses on improving environmental health, wellbeing and climate resilience through greener, healthier and more inclusive public-space design. It will combine architectural and urban design approaches with scientific health assessment, participatory processes and real-life pilot interventions in Mediterranean municipalities.
We are looking for a partner with expertise in environmental health, urban public health, health inequalities, thermal comfort, wellbeing and the relationship between the built environment and human health.

Antonio Valentino SaporitoParticipantDear Inis,
I’m writing on behalf of the Neurology Department of the University Hospital of Cagliari.
We are a major University Hospital department in Italy and we are interested in seeking opportunities to join a partnership within the Interreg EURO-MED.
We are located at the Policlinico Universitario in Monserrato, Cagliari, a major university teaching hospital in southern Sardinia working through an integrated public health, academic, and research framework with the University of Cagliari. The Hospital provides highly-specialised healthcare services from across the region, with a catchment area of over 500,000 people, and is a regional reference hub for several specialties including Oncology, Rheumatology and Immunology, Cardiology and other specialised services.
We are located at the Neurology Department, directed by Professor Monica Puligheddu, a tertiary centre for (1) epilepsy; (2) sleep disorders; (3) neurodegenerative and cognitive disorders; (4) Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). The Department has access to imaging facilities such as MRI and SPECT imaging. We are actively involved in clinical and translational research, with particular interests in Alzheimer, sleep disorders, Parkinson’s disease, ALS, epilepsy and early biomarkers of neurodegeneration.
We are interested in exploring opportunities within the “promoting green living areas” mission, mainly centred on projects about prevention of neurodegenerative diseases, environmental and lifestyle optimisation for neurologically vulnerable people, modification of risk factors of disease, and similar projects.Contact: monicamf.puligheddu@unica.it

Ozren GrozdanicParticipantDear Inis,
We are a regional public health institute (Nastavni zavod za javno zdravstvo Istarske županije) based in Pula, Croatia, and we would be interested in joining the project as a potential partner and pilot site.
We have been developing an idea to create a green, interactive and inclusive outdoor space at our institution, which could serve as a real-life pilot for testing nature-based solutions and exploring their potential benefits for health and wellbeing.
Building on our existing collaborations with local and regional authorities, we could also contribute to integrating the proposed solutions and project results into local planning processes and climate adaptation strategies. Furthermore, as a public health institution, we could contribute to the project’s public health dimension, including the assessment of the relationship between green spaces, environmental conditions and wellbeing.
Please let us know if our profile and proposed pilot could be a good fit for your project proposal. We would be happy to discuss potential collaboration further.
