Additive manufacturing, 3D metrology, training

Metal Centre Čakovec (MCČ), the Development and Training Centre for the Metal Industry, is a public research, development and training institution founded by Međimurje County (Croatia). We turn additive-manufacturing know-how into tested, transferable solutions, and we are looking to join a consortium as a partner (not lead) in Call 08.

TARGET: Mission Innovative Sustainable Economy | SO 2.6 (circular and resource-efficient economy) | Topic: reducing water plastic pollution (circular product design and value chains, prevention at source).

WHAT WE BRING TO A TEST PROJECT
1) Material-efficient design and AM prototyping. We design and print (FDM and SLM) pilot components optimised to use only the necessary material, with minimal waste. Measurable indicators: grams of material per part, rejected-print rate, print mass saved.
2) 3D metrology. 3D scanning and inspection to verify accuracy, wear and fit of pilot components, and a harmonised measurement protocol that lets pilots in different countries be compared like for like.
3) Analysis and reporting. A dedicated team (1 PhD and 2 engineers) delivers the pilot assessment: before/after data, a report with clear conclusions, design guidelines and a transferability plan for other Mediterranean territories.
4) Training and skills. The compulsory Euro-MED Academy training module and video, delivered in our own classrooms with computers and workshop space, building on our vocational programmes in additive manufacturing and our experience in European mobility and curriculum development.
5) Pilot infrastructure. Our own large facility is available for pilot and training activities, so no external land or site agreements are needed for our part.

WHO WE WOULD LIKE TO MEET
A lead partner with a plastic-pollution pilot idea and complementary partners in plastics monitoring, waste management, packaging and SMEs.
