Association À bulabuledda (“La Coccinelle”) – Corsica, France | Seeking partners for Call 8 (Green Living Areas)
Since 2018, our association has run pedagogical and therapeutic gardens across 15–20 villages and 9 rural schools in the Ajaccio region of Corsica. Our flagship project, “Les Jardins Gourmands du Taravu” (formerly “de la graine à l’assiette”), has been running for 5 years and includes tasting and juice-extraction workshops for children.
Actions and partnerships
● 3 years of partnership with the PETR (Pôle Territorial et Rural)on the health/pedagogical garden strand — 270 children reached
● 4 years of partnership with municipalities on the same themes, including 5 municipalities involved last year
● Intergenerational strand connecting schoolchildren with the Valle Longa elderly care home (EHPAD) in Cauro
● Growing Barbutu, an ancient climate-resilient Corsican wheat variety, in our pedagogical gardens
Coordinator’s expertise
Joëlle Villegas, pedagogical coordinator, has over ten years of work on research and endemic plants. She led greening actions in villages, then on the balconies of small apartment buildings, bringing plants to where people live. Before teaching, she ran a shared garden for 3 years. She then taught market gardening and agroecology at the lycée agricole de Sartène, and led training courses on setting up gardens and shared/community gardens.
What we are looking for
To join a Call 8 consortium as a pilot/expertise partner (not lead partner) on projects combining gardens, local and endemic plants, biodiversity, and intergenerational or educational dimensions. We would welcome connecting with a lead partner (regional authority, university, agency) able to structure a wider consortium.
