Nicosia Development Agency (ANEL) – Interreg Euro-MED Call 8

The Nicosia Development Agency (ANEL) is an organisation established by nine local authorities in the Nicosia District, Cyprus. Our main objective is to support our member municipalities in achieving sustainable development through initiatives in areas such as energy efficiency, electromobility, energy transition, waste management, social inclusion, circular economy and sustainable development.

ANEL plays a central role in connecting local authorities, national government institutions, universities, research organisations, NGOs, private-sector actors and civil society. As a consultative link between the central government, the Managing Authority of the European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) and our member municipalities, we contribute to public consultations, policy development and the coordination of projects at local level. This enables us to identify local needs, support policy improvements and facilitate the implementation of sustainable solutions across our area of intervention.

We are very interested in joining a consortium under the forthcoming Interreg Euro-MED Call on Green Living Areas, as its objectives are closely aligned with our priorities and experience.

ANEL has extensive experience in the design, implementation and management of European and transnational projects, having participated as both a project partner and lead partner/coordinator across different European financing programmes. Our work focuses on strengthening cooperation between local and regional stakeholders and translating European priorities into practical initiatives that respond to local needs.

Through our established relationships with municipalities and local stakeholders, ANEL can contribute to stakeholder engagement, territorial coordination, knowledge transfer and the effective implementation of project activities at local level. Our proximity to local authorities and communities provides a valuable link between European project objectives and their practical application in the territories.

We believe that ANEL could provide a valuable contribution to your consortium, supporting the development of sustainable, inclusive and resilient living areas while promoting the transferability and long-term impact of project results.
