On 21 September 2026, the Interreg Euro-MED Programme launched the Interreg Euro-MED Academy: a renewed and dynamic learning platform designed to transform project knowledge into long-lasting impact for the Mediterranean region.
With this launch, the Programme reinforces its capitalisation approach, ensuring that the results, methods and tools produced by its projects do not remain isolated, but instead inspire and guide future initiatives, policies and communities across the region.

For almost 20 years now, the Interreg Euro-MED Programme has been supporting projects that develop innovative solutions, whether in sustainable mobility, circular economy, biodiversity protection or governance. Each of these projects generates knowledge, methods and practices that can inspire others.
But without structured mechanisms to share, transfer and reuse results, the risk is that valuable experiences remain confined to one project or one territory. The Academy responds directly to this challenge by creating a structured learning space where results become resources for everyone.
What the Interreg Euro-MED Academy Offers?
A dual learning environment
The Interreg Euro-MED Academy is not a traditional training platform. It provides a structured learning environment containing both:
- The Results Library, an online hub for project deliverables aiming to share the knowledge produced;
- The Training Catalogue, which is a learning environment for applying this knowledge.
Together, the Results Library and the Academy will form a powerful duo: one as a repository, the other as a learning tool.
A collection of training modules
At the core of the Interreg Euro-MED Academy are the training modules, designed to address the most relevant themes for the region: from climate resilience to circular economy, innovation, natural resources management, ecosystem restoration and sustainable governance.
- Each module is developed in collaboration with experts and project partners;
- They are delivered in a video-format, accessible online to a wide audience;
- They integrate practical tools and case studies from Interreg Euro-MED projects.
A long-term community of Learners
Unlike one-off events, the Interreg Euro-MED Academy is designed as an evolving space. New modules will be added progressively, ensuring that the platform remains alive, relevant and responsive to emerging needs.
The Interreg Euro-MED Academy is also about exchange, as learners will have opportunities to interact, share experiences, and connect with others who face similar challenges in their territories. It is primarily addressed to:
- Project partners: to help them capitalise on their results and learn from others;
- Policymakers: to translate project outputs into concrete policy measures;
- Universities and researchers: to connect academic knowledge with practical experiences and innovative solutions.
But the Interreg Euro-MED Academy is also open to other stakeholders interested in Mediterranean cooperation, such as NGOs, private sector actors, or citizens engaged in sustainability initiatives.
One More Step Towards a Shared Mediterranean Future
The Interreg Euro-MED Academy is one of the pillars of the Interreg Euro-MED Programme capitalisation approach, which is based on three objectives:
- Sharing and reusing project results by making outputs accessible and understandable for different audiences.
- Transferring solutions into policies by ensuring that project results inform decision-making at local, regional, national and European levels.
- Strengthening cooperation among Mediterranean stakeholders by creating synergies, avoiding duplication, and building collective knowledge.
The Interreg Euro-MED Academy is part of a broader vision: to create a Mediterranean community of practice where knowledge is not only preserved but activated to generate systemic change.
Next steps
The Interreg Euro-MED Academy is officially live as of 21 September 2026. The Interreg Euro-MED Programme has launched a dedicated communication campaign to encourage participation.
The first training modules are already available, with new ones to be rolled out progressively over the coming months. The same applies to the results library, which already contains a selection of deliverables and will be regularly updated with the 90+ projects that have already been funded under the 2021-27 Interreg Euro-MED Programme.
