    Fundação INATEL (Portugal) – Interested in joining a consortium as a Partner

    Fundação INATEL is a Portuguese public-interest foundation established in 1935, with 90 years of experience in social tourism, culture, sports, leisure, social inclusion and territorial development.

    Operating across mainland Portugal and the islands, Fundação INATEL has a strong nationwide presence through 26 local branches, 15 hotel units, sports facilities, Teatro da Trindade INATEL, a Training Academy and a Qualifica Centre. Its network reaches approximately 250,000 individual members and 3,500 collective members (Centres for Culture and Sports – CCDs), providing the Foundation with a strong capacity to engage local communities, organisations and stakeholders across different territories.

    Fundação INATEL has extensive experience in implementing publicly funded programmes and initiatives, particularly in the fields of social and sustainable tourism, culture and intangible cultural heritage, sports, capacity building, active and healthy ageing, social inclusion and intergenerational and intercultural participation.

    What can Fundação INATEL bring to a consortium?

    Given its extensive territorial presence, infrastructures, community network and multidisciplinary experience, Fundação INATEL can contribute to projects through:

    Implementation and testing of pilot activities in different Portuguese territories;
    Community and stakeholder engagement, including local organisations, municipalities and other territorial actors;
    Valorisation and promotion of cultural and intangible heritage, connecting traditional knowledge and practices with contemporary approaches;
    Development and testing of approaches linking natural and cultural resources with sustainable and inclusive territorial development;
    Social, sustainable and community-based tourism approaches that contribute to the valorisation of local resources and communities;
    Training, capacity-building and awareness-raising activities;
    Promotion of social inclusion and intergenerational and intercultural participation;
    Organisation of participatory, cultural, sports and community activities;
    Dissemination, transfer and replication of project results through its extensive nationwide network.

    Fundação INATEL is particularly interested in joining a consortium working on the protection, sustainable valorisation and promotion of natural and cultural resources, especially where these resources can contribute to stronger communities, social inclusion, sustainable territorial development and the attractiveness and resilience of Mediterranean territories.

    We would be pleased to explore potential synergies and discuss how Fundação INATEL could contribute as a Partner to a project consortium.
