Hello,
my name is Mariluz Parga, and I am Senior Project Manager at the marine conservation NGO SUBMON (www.submon.org). We have a deep knowledge in marine habitats and protected species (seagrasses, whales and dolphins, sea turtles, underwater invertebrates, coralligenous), in MPA management, including the management of marine wildlife watching tourism impact on sensitive habitats and species, and in Ocean Literacy.
We have experience in Horizon Europe, Erasmus, Cosme and Interreg Med projects. Years ago we participated in the Wildsea Europe and WAOH projects (wildsea.eu) developing training and awareness materials for marine tourism operators and their clients on identifying best practices when watching wildlife, ID of species over and under water, the relation between these activities and human health, etc., and carrying out trainings in countries around the Mediterranean Sea (Greece, Italy, Spain, Croatia) and Atlantic Ocean (Portugal, UK, Ireland).
We are not experts in tourism as such, but work closely with tourism operators in our everyday work, including through citizen science projects. We could contribute with our specific knowledge about the marine and coastal environment in a project focusing in coastal/marine tourism.
