Insieme per Camminare (IpC) stands at the forefront of integrating environmental stewardship with the preservation of cultural and natural heritage. Based in Southern Italy, our organization harnesses expertise in fine arts, cultural heritage, and education to foster sustainability and resilience in our community practices.
IpC manages infopoints and key cultural sites, including the Museo Diocesano e del Codex which houses the UNESCO-listed Codex Purpureus Rossanensis. We are dedicated to the conservation, protection, restoration, and valorization of cultural assets, integrating sustainable practices into every aspect of our operations, from tour organization to digital engagement and museum management.
Our primary goal is to enhance the environmental sustainability of cultural heritage management. We aim to minimize our ecological footprint while maximizing the educational and cultural value of our heritage sites. By doing so, we advocate for a balance between preserving our past and protecting our future, making cultural heritage a pillar of sustainable community development.
Our activities span a wide range, emphasizing the ecological aspects of cultural management:
• Collaborative efforts with local and international institutions to develop sustainable cultural tourism practices.
• Educational programs and workshops designed to promote environmental awareness and sustainable practices among visitors and the community.
• Innovation in digital tools and technologies to enhance the accessibility and sustainability of cultural experiences, reducing the need for physical travel and its associated environmental impact. We seek opportunities to partner with organizations within the Interreg Euro-MED Programme to:
• Develop and implement eco-friendly management practices for cultural sites that serve as models of sustainability.
• Create educational and training modules focused on environmental sustainability in the context of cultural heritage.
• Engage in joint research initiatives to explore new methods for integrating environmental conservation with cultural heritage preservation. We believe that through collaborative efforts, we can significantly contribute to the mission of protecting, restoring, and enhancing our environment and natural heritage.
Organizations interested in partnering with us to push the boundaries of cultural and environmental sustainability are encouraged to reach out:
