Considering our interest and aim to join a project on Interreg EURO MED or Interreg EUROPE, I am writing in term of new collaborations
Ston Municipality is a unit of local government aimed at providing public and utility
services to the population of Ston Municipality. The municipality is developing strategic
plans and activities aimed at improving the economy, tourism, culture, communal services,
and the social health picture of the municipality. The municipality’s goal is to develop and
improve the sustainable development of all economic branches that operate in the territory of
the municipality in such a way as to develop intersectoral cooperation, cooperation with
local stakeholders and joint planning. As a newcomer in the crossborder cooperation, Ston
Municipality will exchange their experience as a local community devoted to developing
specific actions and initiatives in order to valorise its natural, cultural and enogastronomy
heritage.
Ston as a place has a natural and cultural heritage such as the oldest saltworks in Europe, oyster farming and farms, the second largest city walls in the world, agriculture (olives, wineries, fruit and vegetable growing), fishing and more. In addition to the above, municipality has project experience with which can apply for a project from the current calls of the Interreg program (desired contribution as a project partner)
