Primorje-Gorski Kotar County (PGKC) is a regional government authority from Croatian North Adriatic coast.
PGKC is well experienced with at a European/international level with more than 20 Interreg projects successfully implemented. It coordinated the IT- HR cross-border project AdriPromTour and in the past led other IT-HR projects (Arca Adriatica an ArTVision+) and was involved as a partner in numerous transnational projects (e.g. Interreg Central Europe: REFREsh project, Interreg Adrion: Future 4.0 and follow-up Future 4.0 aimed at ManuFactUringeducaTion and training governance model for IndUstry 4.0 in the Adriatic-Ionian aREa, ENERNETMOB –addressing issues related to interregional mobility, Interreg Med Programme: Blue Islands project – focused on assessment of marine litter, etc.) and other IT-HR cross-border projects (Joint Secap, Argos,Framesport, Excover, Hercultour, etc.) and implemented several mainstream EU Programmes.
In general, PGKC covers an area with 265.000 inhabitants across diverse area containing islands, coast and mountain region. As a organisation it is tasked with competences on regional level, including education, health care, spatial and urbanistic planning, economic development, transportation, planning and development of the educational, health, social and cultural institutions. The County through the Department of Regional Development, Infrastructure and Project Management creates, implements and co-finances projects in field of regional development, energy and infrastructure. The County has gained experience/competences in fields of public infrastructure, environmental protection, tourism, projects/institution management, education, horizontal policies, smart and digital transformations etc.
