We are recognizable by our forests, as 60% of our municipality is covered by forests. Kakanj Municipality is proud of its incentives for the establishment of private businesses, student scholarships, energy efficiency measures, and the development of agriculture and food production. Kakanj is a royal city, from which the statehood of Bosnia and Herzegovina begins. In our area, the oldest mosque and Franciscan monastery are located. The only ski resort in the Zenica Doboj canton is located in Kakanj. We emphasize mountain, religious, and rural tourism. Kakanj Municipality stands as a blend of history, natural beauty, economic significance, and cultural diversity, making it a vital and vibrant part of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
