Friuli Venezia Giulia Autonomous Region (IT) is an Italian region located in the northeastern part of the country.
The Department for culture and sports has adopted a multi-dimensional complex approach that recognizes culture and creativity as key element of innovation in redesigning cross-sectorial synergies.
Since the adoption of the regional resolution n. 2442/2018 and within the CRE:HUB Project (Interreg Europe), FVGAR developed the Regional Action Plan to support culture and creativity: 3 main actions has been identified to foster the creation of new companies and the development of existing ones in CC sectors. Local group of stakeholders supported the just mentioned development too.
Thanks to the Regional Cluster for Culture and Creativity established within the Chimera project (Interreg MED), FVG AR has improved the attractiveness of the regional ecosystem of cultural and creative industries, providing specific services and targeted assistance to regional companies.
The regional cluster collaborates in synergy with the Professional Technical Pole of the Cultural and Creative Sector of the Region – that is a functional tool for the realization of an organic educational offer in respect of a sector considered strategic for the development of the economy of the territory. The participation of the main regional stakeholders was crucial for the creation of new policies and tools in support of the companies that trough a bottom-up approach managed to engage local public authorities, sectoral agencies, universities and research organizations, cultural institutions and associations, business supports organizations, SMEs, CCIs.
In 2019, the Department for culture and sports launched the multiannual programme “Cultural and Creative Hubs”, which focused on the financing of projects – in particular, the preparation, furnishing, equipment and technological equipment of spaces and archives – and on the realization of multidisciplinary projects related to cultural, creative and educational activities.
The Department has implemented, within the ERDF ROP 2014-2020, a specific action (4 M€) that aims to foster the establishment of new SMEs in the CC sector as well as supporting existing ones. Thanks to the networking established at a regional, national and European level, the Department has developed a broad experience on the implementation and management of EU projects that are supporting culture and creativity.
FVGAR has participated as LP in “ChiMERA–Innovative CC clusters in the MED area” (Interreg Med.) that aims at enforcing innovation of CCIs at the EU level through the development of transnational clusters and synergies among companies, research centres, public authorities and civil society. Moreover, the Department collaborated as partner in: “CRE:HUB–policies for CCIs: the HUB for innovative regional development” (Interreg EU) whose main goal is the support of the development of new SMEs in CC sectors at a regional and national level; “SMATH- Smart atmospheres of social and financial innovation for innovative clustering of creative industries in MED area” project (Interreg MED 2014-2020) whose main objective is to improve, through innovative forms of clustering ‘Smart Atmospheres’, the quality and quantity of connections between the publicly oriented domain of culture and creativity and business. The Department is currently working on the following projects: CREATURES (INTERREG Adrion) that aims to promote creative tourism through new experiential and sustainable routes taking in consideration the relationship between cultural heritage and CCIs; CROSSINNO (Interreg Ita-AUT) that aims to promote cross-fertilization actions between cultural heritage, traditional SMEs and CCIs through the realization of a collaboration model in order to strengthen the relationship between these actors; SACHE (NTERREG Central Europe) that wants to expand and strengthen the role of cultural heritage sites, symbols and values by transforming them, on the basis of a new developed central European model, into “Smart Accelerators of Creative Heritage Entrepreneurship” (SACHE); DIVA (Interreg ITA-SLO), which main objective is to connect the creative sectors to the economic ones in order to create an eco-system of innovation that is able to compete in international markets; PRIMIS (Interreg ITA-SLO) that enhances the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of linguistic communities as a value for the economic development and the sustainable cultural tourism of the territories.
Hence, due to the many experiences in management and capitalization of several Interreg EU projects, it could be valuable to participate in the implementation of an Institutional Dialogue Project within the 1st mission “Innovative sustainable economy” or the 4th Mission “Sustainable Tourism”.
