Legambiente Lombardia is one of the regional branch of Legambiente, the most widespread environmental no profit association in Italy since more than 40 years, with the aim to improve and protect the environment, safeguard biodiversity, protect natural areas, promote an efficient use of natural resources and foster sustainable territorial development, promote solidarity and peace as fundamental values of our society https://www.legambientelombardia.it/
Legambiente Lombardia performs its activities on a regional basis, with more than 80 local groups spread in the Lombardy region.Since the beginning of the 2000s the association has started working on land conservation and management with a “land stewardship” approach. It carries out initiatives against soil consumption and it promotes the local biodiversity with citizens’ involvement for the conservation of natural resources.
Its environmental campaigns to increase the people awareness, such as Clean up the world, People4soil and Goletta dei Laghi are well known and involve thousands of volunteers every year https://www.legambientelombardia.it/category/campagne/At regional level, since 2004 Legambiente Lombardia has being developing several projects (local, national and european) on ecological networks, biodiversity protection and conservation, climate change adaptation and mitigation, with main role in raising awareness and promoting education scientific issues, dissemination activities, citizens’ involvement and stakeholder engagement.
Legambiente Lombardia is interested in joining consortium to develop project in one of the following thematics: clean energy and green transition, education and strategies to reduce and prevent food waste, green and circular economy transition, improve waste management, soil and biodiversity protection, sustainable agriculture, promotion of sustainable mobility and green urban requalification.
