On 1st June 2022, the European Commission officially adopted, with the signature of the approval decision, the Interreg Euro-Mediterranean (Euro-MED) Transnational Cooperation Programme for the period 2021-2027.
Aiming to “Making the Mediterranean green transition happen”, the Interreg Euro-MED Programme, by bringing together its partners from 69 regions in 14 countries on the northern shore of the Mediterranean, is ready to act for a climate-neutral and resilient society for the benefit of its citizens.
Concretely, the Programme will co-finance and support the development and implementation of cooperation projects to strengthen the sustainable and innovative economy, protect, restore and enhance the natural heritage, promote green living areas and strengthen sustainable tourism.
Thus, over the next seven years, we will work together to make the Mediterranean region smarter and greener and to improve governance among its stakeholders, in line with the European Commission’s priorities and objectives for cohesion policy.
