Regional Education and Information Centre for Sustainable Development in South-East Europe (REIC) is a non-profit organization established in 2005 and situated in Sarajevo. Born out of a regional training project scheme for the Adriatic-Ionian Basin, REIC functions as a nucleus for environmental education and integration practices. Supported financially by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and implemented by UNESCO-ROSTE in Venice, it collaborates with the University of Sarajevo, University of Bologna, and the Institute for Central Eastern and Balkan Europe.
REIC’s main objective is to identify environmental issues and educational needs while enhancing initiatives in the region. With a vision to be a focal point for capacity building in environmental education and sustainable development, REIC conducts activities such as networking, training, and information dissemination. Their expertise lies in designing tailored training and workshops, utilizing interdisciplinary teams of educators. They specialize in climate change, energy transition, and sustainable development, leveraging e-learning platforms and engaging with diverse communities to build resilience. REIC’s extensive experience includes policy development, research, and fostering regional partnerships, making it a significant actor in advancing sustainability agendas in South-East Europe.
REIC has extensive experience participating in not only Interreg projects, including Adrion, Danube, and Euro-MED, but also Erasmus+, EUKI, and ECF. Our wide network of partners also enables us to secure the support of relevant state institutions, ensuring an effective and comprehensive approach to project implementation.
